Eli

A perfect way to start the week after celebrating mother’s Day~ a brand new baby boy! There is no better feeling than a warm little baby snuggled up on your chest…. oh how I miss those days! But when my four year old crawls up into our bed early in the morning and wants to snuggle me, I savor every single second of it.

Welcome to the world Eli, your mommy is so excited you are here!!

The Robinsons

If you know me and my family, then you know that I have a close-knit group of girlfriends that are practically an extended arm of my family. This group of women has been my “inner circle” for years and years, and we have seen each other go through some of life’s hardest moments. You name it, and this group has seen it. We sit at our usual table at Starbucks every other Tuesday, and we catch up, laugh, talk about the current book we are reading, share, vent, cry and pray together. There is no topic off-limits, and there isn’t anything that we can’t share with one another. Oh, if those walls inside that little corner of Starbucks could talk, they would tell you that they’ve seen and heard it all!

So when Alison and Amanda shared some news and personal prayer requests about their father-in-law, it was time to circle the wagons. Because thats what we do- we huddle up around one another, and we pull each other through it.

In April of this year, Brent Robinson was diagnosed with stage 4 abdominal cancer. Being no stranger to cancer myself, I know the deep pain and fear it can quickly spill over the family. But Brent is not alone in this. God is bigger than cancer, bigger than fear, and bigger than we could imagine. Sometimes we can’t see God’s plan, but we can find some comfort in knowing that this was all orchestrated, and that God already knows the outcome.

And so, a few family pictures on a warm Spring night seemed like just the right thing to do.

If you would like to stay updated with Brent and his family as they navigate this journey, please stop by Brent’s CaringBridge page. It’s the best and most effective way to keep his loved ones up to date with his medical information, and ways in which we can all be helping and praying for the Robinson family! I love you Robinson family! The Anderson family is praying for you over here, and we are blessed to call you guys our friends.

xoxo

Arece & Emily

Let me first just preface this by saying, I do not normally do engagement or wedding pictures. It’s just NOT my forte’!  I know at least a dozen wedding photographers here in the valley, and any of them could rock a wedding better than I ever could. The thought of all that pressure of someone’s wedding day is enough to have me shaking in my boots!

But this was special. Because this was for my little sister.

And no, I am not shooting her wedding… I only have one sister and I plan on celebrating, toasting, laughing, eating and dancing my booty off that night with her. I want to celebrate and be in the moment with her. So she’s much better off leaving the photographic work to someone who knows what she is doing! And for those of you wondering, she has chosen an absolutely incredible photographer from Santa Barbara CA, named Christianne Taylor. I have been a big fan of Christianne’s work for a long time, and I still get giddy when I think about her being here to photograph Em’s wedding!

With that said~ I was honored when they asked if I would do some engagement pictures for them:). I could go on and on about my love for these two, and how much they mean to me… but I have to save something for my Maid of Honor speech;)

In a few simple words- God designed them perfectly for each other.

I love them both, and can’t wait to see them joined in marriage…

I love you guys!

And most importantly… from a very protective big sister… thank You Arece, for loving and taking care of my baby sister. I will be honored to call you my brother-in-law:)

xoxo
