When I first started my business, I made the mistake of trying to be a “jack of all trades”. But you know what they say… “jack of all trades~ but a master of none”.
So as I matured in my work, I found that my true passion came in maternity & newborn. I decided to funnel all my creative energy and time into focussing on this area, to truly keep myself inspired- and not too busy! And while this has kept me extremely busy, I have decided to switch things up for just a little bit.
For one, many of you know that I also work as a NICU nurse. I only work on-call, so my work schedule is highly dependent on our patient census at work. And while this fits my life and my family very well, it can also be a little unpredictable. During our busy seasons at work, its usually possible to pick up extra shifts. During our slow seasons, I’m rarely there. Which presents a unique opportunity for me…
So I would like to start introducing “Sessions on a Whim”.
On days where I was expecting to work, but now have a free day and some availability to take an extra session, I will post on my Facebook photography page that I have an opening to take a last-minute session that day. First come-first serve, and the best part- …. I am opening it up to sessions of any kind. Meaning you don’t have to have a pregnant belly or brand new newborn to book the session
. This is rare for me! But it may work out quite well! It’s a perfect fit for someone who has been meaning to plan out a family photo session for her family, or maybe even just a session of her kiddos, but hasn’t gotten around to it, and would totally be willing to show up that evening for a spur-of-the-moment session.
Perhaps you want to use it for a session of just your kids… or maybe a mother/daughter or mother/kids session as a surprise gift for your hubby…. maybe you haven’t gotten some lovey-dovey pictures of you and your loved one in years …. whatever the occasion, I’ll pick a location, and you just have to show up with smiles![]()
And since I’ve been focussing on maternity & newborn for the past year, I haven’t been posting many family pictures on the blog… but they have been done, you just haven’t seen them![]()

So watch out for my announcements on Facebook for these opportunities for “Sessions on a Whim” … hope to meet you soon!
