You’ll have to forgive me if my blog posts seem sporadic and inconsistent lately! My Fall schedule is nothing short of crazy-busy, and this summer flew by faster than any summer I can remember as of recently. All of the sudden I turn around, and my kids are starting school tomorrow! Between the usual summer activities and trips, I had a busy baby boom among my clients, and my little sister got married. It was all enough to keep me pretty busy for a while.
So why not add more to my plate, right? Of course!!
We have some big exciting news in our family…. (NO, not of the baby sort) .. we are moving! Ironically, we are moving about a mile down the road
but it is a dream for us because we are SO in love with our new future home. After a lot of prayers and research during our house search, God led us to an amazing opportunity that we never thought we would have. Construction began last week, and it takes all of our will power not to drive by it and check on it every day when we pass by. We feel blessed beyond measure to begin this new adventure, and to build a home that we can envision our kids growing up in. We can’t wait to watch each beam be placed, and the walls of our new home start to take shape. We pray that God blesses this new home, and that our kids grow up happy, healthy and loving Jesus inside its walls.
And one of the homes’ best features for me? I will have my own newborn studio! My very own place where my gear is set up and my work is displayed… I can’t wait!! So for all you moms out there with a due date in late February and beyond.. you will get to christen my new studio space!![]()
As a fun project (and a way to keep my mind busy so that I’m not obsessed with driving by the construction), we are doing a weekly progress picture. John actually has plans to drive by every day and take a quick picture so that we can do a 7 month time-lapse video of the process, which will be pretty cool to watch. But I’ll keep it to just a weekly picture for myself, and I’ll occasionally share a few pictures as more progress is made.
And so here is Week One of our “Project Home”

We have some fun ideas that we are looking forward to trying as our home is being built. For one, I’d like to pick out a verse as our “family life verse” that we can write somewhere on the beams of our home as the walls are going up, or maybe etch it in the concrete when the concrete is poured. In some way, I want the verse to be an actual part of the homes’ foundation. As the house starts to take shape, I’d like to go room by room and pray over each room as it is being built. The kids’ rooms, the living room, kitchen… you get the idea. Any and all of the areas where our family and friends will be dwelling, we would like to cover in prayer.
And so if you notice that my blog is being neglected, its probably because you can find me perusing Pinterest for ideas, and shopping and dreaming about the house. Oh- that and working!! I’ll be a busy bee lately, but it will all be worth it. We are excited about this new adventure as a family, and we give all the glory to God.
Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”
